 The list  is somewhat long this week. To make sure they are not
 too time consuming, I have selected   a number of
  odd-numbered questions, for which numerical answers
 can be looked up at the back of the book, and detailed solutions
 in the student manual.  BUT PLEASE  make sure you make a serious
 attempt before looking anything up, since these questions will train
 you in important skills you are likely to need in the final exam and
