Reviews of LOVE Enter
Six weeks after its release at Houghton Mifflin, LOVE Enter
went into a second printing. LOVE Enter is a love story set in Paris
and New Orleans, and was just named the winner of the 1993
Los Angeles Times
Book Award for First Fiction.
LOVE Enter was included in the New York Times "Books
for Vacation Reading" list (June 6) for this summer.
Lisa Zeidner, in the New York Times Book Review (May 23),
calls LOVE Enter "original and moving. Kafka's tender novel gives the
familiar story of Americans in Paris, in love, a fresh spin."
Eugenia Zukerman, in the Washington Post (May 4) calls
LOVE Enter "virtuosic, the characters unique and as multilayered
as a napoleon, and bittersweet as absinthe."
Suzanne Freeman, in the Boston Globe (May 16),
describes LOVE Enter
as "an exploration of that mysterious area where love and
technology intersect. Kafka writes with passion and promise."
"LOVE Enter dazzlingly evokes young passion through luxuriant
language and an aphrodisiacal Parisian backdrop," writes
Publishers Weekly (March 22) in a starred review.
Cosmopolitan (May) describes LOVE Enter as "thoroughly charming
and romantic. The start of a great literary career."
