What kind of movies I like? Well, some friends tell me that since I am from Europe I should appreciate off-mainstream, indie, european, and art movies. But I guess I still go mainly for Hollywood features... That is not to say that I will not like a good art movie. But I think that for an art movie, the director has to control so many variables to create the artistic impression he wants, that he rarely succeeds in communicating that to a lot of people. I did enjoy some of Fellini's movies, Kurosawa's poetic exploration of the human nature, I liked Bergman's 'The seventh seal'. But I could not enjoy critically acclaimed movies like Kristof Kieslowski's trilogy Red, White and Blue, where my consciousness was stressed out trying to see meanings and messages, where I am not sure there were any. So, Hollywood rules! So let me begin by categories. As for music, I love most genres of movies, but obvously I have more favourites from some genres, less from others. ![]()
I like watching Action movies, but trying to analyze them is probably useless. It's just fun! Anyway, here are some of my favourites: ![]()
Terminator Schwarzenegger is definitely the king of 'blow-everything-to-pieces' kind of' action movie, and in the Terminator movies he really excels at that ! ![]()
Check out this Terminator link. ![]()
And then there's Jackie Chan ![]()
The man who invented a whole new style, martial arts action comedy deserves all the credit. Check out this Drunken Master web page.band43.jpg ![]()
Since we're talking about action movies, the (soon to be trilogy) The matrix series deserves all the credit. ![]()

Combine heart-pumping action and mind-blowing special effects with
philosophical questions about the nature of reality and morality; add excellent directing and performances and you just get the gist of it!
Then comes the a special kind of 'action' movies, where the atmosphere of the movie is more important than the fights.
I do like all things Highlander, the series, the sequels to the movie,
even Highlander:The Raven (although that is kinda' too much), but
the original movie is a classic I would watch anytime!

And the music of Queen is unforgettable!

site
Then there's the incredible dialogue and the gangster coolness ofPulp Fiction
![]()
Who doesn't remember John Travolta and Uma Thurman' s twist, or Samuel L. Jackson's 'Ezekiel 25:17'?
Check out this Pulp Fiction website.
Then there's Strange movies, and David Lynch comes immediately
to mind. And obviously that mistery show
![]()
Unfortunately, when it ended I was so mad at David Lynch, I did not look back at the show from which I haven't lost a second. How could
he build up something so complicated and end it in the stupidest
tradition of all american horror movies?
In case you are more lenient than me, check out this website
There's Poetic movies, where the story is a natural extension of the
atmosphere. I would put 'Dances with wolves' in this category,
although some would try to call it a western movie, but it is so much
more! I could not find anything about it on the net, though. There are Dramatic movies, and in the recent years probably none ![]()
better than Schindler's list. There's of course La vita e bella, but that set out a category of its own, Comedy-Drama. Anyway, for the movie that broke all italian records at the Oscars, here is the

official website (Schindler's list is old enough so that I couldn't find a website )
Then there are Romantic movies , like Sense and sensibility, which I liked very much, but it is true that I don't watch a lot from ![]()
the genre, mainly because I like better to be 'entertained', by something with action or comedy.Romantic comedies are a different story, though. I love to watch ![]()
from time to time L.A. Story or 3 weddings and a funeral. And here is some entertainment News and Gossip ![]()
